Our bodies carry our unresolved pain, worry, fear and trauma from the past. Unless we have consciously healed them, we are all still carrying the, sometimes crippling, feelings of rejection and low self-worth we picked up in early childhood and beyond. Our bodies pay a high price for our unresolved emotions!
Knees are wonderfully complex joints. We need them to be healthy and flexible so we can move with grace and ease. Dance, run, climb mountains and stairs which, with painful knees, can sometimes feel like mountains!
If we are struggling emotionally with situations that we seem to be stuck in, holding ourselves back by sticking rigidly to old habits, remaining in unhealthy relationships and stubbornly holding on to painful memories, our knees are likely to be struggling too!
Alternatively, low self-worth or fear of standing up for ourselves can lead to conditions that weaken our knees.
If our knees buckle, give way too quickly, knock or tremble with fear or we are unable to stand up for ourselves (metaphorically and/or physically). We need to work on our self-esteem and insecurity, learn to believe in ourselves and claim our place in the world.
