These thin little parts of our body support our entire weight. If an ankle slips our whole body falls to the ground. Support is the key here as the ankles reflect the support we depend on not just from others but from our inner support system. This inner system consists of psychological and emotional beliefs that give our lives meaning and purpose. If any of this is taken away, doubted or questioned there is nothing to hold us upright. This can happen when we experience shock or trauma or when we feel rejected, betrayed and unable to stand alone.

As the ankles are essential to standing upright they tend to collapse when we can no longer stand it or when the weight from above is too much to stand or bear.

Are your beliefs being questioned? Is your support system letting you down?

A broken ankle indicates very deep conflict about the ground you are standing on and support for where you are going. Are you questioning your underlying beliefs? What has damaged your ability to stand up for yourself?

Our ankles allow us flexibility of movement. Sprained or twisted ankles indicate a lack of flexibility for the direction we’re going in. Are you being pulled in different directions? Do you need to change direction? What needs to be untwisted, unravelled or redirected in your life?

    Thank you. I’ve been dealing with weak ankles for several weeks. I am grateful for your meditation and am going to do it immediately. I can see the area of my inner life where I have not felt supported. The support was there, I was kind of blinded to it, if that makes sense.
    I think the root of this is receiving support. Here I am at a busy time in life with no ability to walk or help myself much. This is a gift… I want to hear the lesson and heal inside as well as have strong ankles again.

    Barbara, I’ve just done the “What your body wants to hear” meditation. I had a massive emotional release at the statement of ‘holding onto the past’. Surprising! This took me off guard completely. Wow, its amazing how we subconsciously hurt ourselves.

    Hi Barbara,

    My daughter is a competitive swimmer and has an overuse injury in her ankle. She is coming up to a big season and is in extreme pain. I am wondering , even with over use, if these principles still apply. I think so….what do you think?

      Sorry for the delay in replying to you. I believe these principles always apply and what is even better is that unlike certain other “treatments”, they don’t have any negative side effects.     Hello Barbara, I have badly sprained my ankle and it’s bruised and swollen, I can’t drive or walk properly and have two young kids, a husband a part time job and struggling to stay positive. I lost my much loved mother in law to aggressive cancer 5 months ago and also lost the company I had with my sister after ten years as well, which shocked us all and me and my husband are still trying to come to terms with it everything. We miss my mother in law so much. I also developed a suspected prolapsed disc and sciatica and am on strong medication for that as well but it’s not shifting. Do you think these affirmations can help me? I am in so much pain and it’s hard to juggle evertything and try to move on with life with such physical and emotional pain, any words of comfort would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Xx

      I am so sorry to hear about your pain, both physical and emotional. What a challenging time you are having. My heart goes out to you. I strongly suggest that you look into finding a good Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner, preferably one who studied Gary Craig’s material directly. In the meantime you can find many good videos about E.F.T. on You Tube. Once you are familiar with the E.F.T. tapping points you can tap along with my free meditation transcripts or with the meditations themselves. All my meditations are based on E.F.T. principles and tapping along with them makes them even more powerful.

    I haven’t hurt my ankles, but I feel all of this tingling around and in them that I’m sure is stuck energy. These affirmations have eased it, but not gotten rid of it. I suppose I need to keep saying them and work on the issues themselves. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this or had any knowledge to give me about what’s going on, what else I can do? Thanks.

      How interesting that you are feeling the energy tingling. I often feel that when I do Emotional Freedom Technique Tapping. I think you are right, you are obviously finding some emotional issues that are being held in that stuck energy. I am so pleased the affirmations have eased it, if you know E.F.T. tapping, I’d try that. If not, as you say, just keep working with the affirmations and the issues themselves. I’d love to hear how you get on.

    Hi Barbara, I came across your website and request youtokindly send me the link where i could listen to your ankle affirmations. I am Rekha and i am from Mumbai, India. I am a superbly active person but nowadays i am having foot and ankle pain. also, i have pronation on both my feet. Nowadays, i am having pain in both my feet and there is slight burning as well. kindly advise as to what i should do

I don’t have an audio excerpt of the Healing For Your Ankles meditation but the affirmations in this article are exactly what is in the audio so reading or using your favourite energy therapy along with these words should help support your ankles. Burning sensations often indicate anger issues, so you might like to read through my Release, Heal & Transform Anger affirmations.             True, our time zones have blended just beautifully, AGree. yes, i have recognised that i need to manage my weight so that my ankles are more easy. i will also start sending love to my ankles and feet. Does immersing feet in salt water also help?

    Even the release level ones, I don’t feel that they hold true..

      Hi Lisa,
      You can disregard any that don’t resonate with you. Alternatively, if you sense you may have an underlying block (we are all very good at hiding our own issues from ourselves) just persist. It won’t do any harm.
