While it may seem that the problem lies in our body, the truth is that underlying painful emotions are the true cause of our pain and dis-ease. We are all different but because of the correlation between emotional issues and specific organs it is possible to target these emotions very specifically. For example, most of us will carry financial worries and family issues in our lower backs.  Fears about the direction our lives are going in in our hips, inflexible attitudes in our knees and guilt or self-recrimination in our necks. While we may try to swallow down painful emotions and harbour worry in our stomachs, our skin is busy trying to ensure we have healthy emotional boundaries!

If you suffer from knee pain you know how debilitating and sometimes scary it can be. Feeling unsteady or having trouble with stairs can really hinder your day-to-day life. You might be surprised to learn what emotional issues may be contributing to your knee pain.

We need our knees to be flexible so we can move with grace and ease, to dance, run and climb stairs! Pride and inflexibility put a strain on our knees. If our knees give way too quickly, knocking or trembling with fear or an inability to stand up for ourselves, we need to work on our self-esteem and insecurity issues come to believe in ourselves and claim our place in the world.

My knee pain, of 6 months or more which I had put down to a torn cartilage, cleared up during very first listening to your knee mp3. Very impressive! The “Why” questions are a method of bridging from the releasing statements to the positive affirmations. It could otherwise be too large a jump for people to go straight in to really feeling the positive. It is also a way to get around the mind saying “yes but..” to a positive affirmation. There is a very different energy around the “Why” statements, try it for yourself, you will probably feel it. For example if you say “I am abundant” your mind will probably jump to the reasons you are not abundant, “I’ve got this debt/I haven’t got any money” that kind of thing. If on the other hand you say “Why am I so abundant?” the mind tends to go to the things you are abundant in, love, friends, pets, health etc. There is less resistance to the “Why” statements and they help to lead you in to the positive. I hope this helps.

UPDATE

A few people tried making a positive affirmation then asking a question and felt the difference in the energy between the two. People who initially thought it would be a negative thing tried it out and realised that far from being negative, it opens us up to the many blessings we actually do have in our lives. It helps us see what is going right for us. In the case of physical healing, it reminds us of all the parts of our bodies which are working beautifully.

I’ve written a lot about weight loss recently because I think it’s a very misunderstood area.  For some reason many of us who are well versed in energy work, universal laws, law of attraction etc. don’t realise that the same laws apply to weight and body image issues – they do!
 

Before I moved into Energy Therapies, I trained in Dog Behaviour. We used kind, effective, reward based training never allowing the dog to fail and very rarely, if ever, using the word “no”.

The trick was to take the dog’s mind where you wanted the body to go, quietly, gently and without force. For example, to teach the dog to sit you hold a treat in front of and just above the dog’s face. If you have their attention and position the treat correctly, their bottom will eventually lower to the floor – success! Most importantly, you have not used force, you have not created an unpleasant experience nor have you created resistance or conflict – even bigger success!!

The very same can be said about successful weight loss. If you get your mind, in our case, the subconscious mind, to go where you want your body to go, without using force (will-power) or creating resistance or conflict, you are on your way to success.

Unlike dogs, most of us already have conflict and resistance in our minds, so first it is essential to clear out all the old emotional debris and this is where energy therapies and affirmations come into their own.

One lady wrote to me recently after having used our Heal Your Relationship With Food meditation once:-

“I had used your Food meditation the other night for the first time (I always feel guilty about food choices even if all I’ve had is a bagel and I find it difficult to know when I’m full, etc.) Well this morning I laid out my breakfast and was happily eating it and then with about 3/4 of it done, I suddenly decided I didn’t want any more, I just wasn’t hungry any longer. This might seem very normal for most people but that doesn’t happen to me. So I was very surprised and pleased!”

At a subconscious level that meditation had eased the emotional drivers that were causing her to over-eat. With them out of the way, it was then completely effortless for her body to tell her when it was full and for her not to finish her breakfast.
