If you suffer from knee pain you know how debilitating and sometimes scary it can be. Feeling unsteady or having trouble with stairs can really hinder your day-to-day life.  You might be surprised to learn what emotional issues may be contributing to your knee pain.

Knee pain is incredibly prevalent especially among young women. I suffered horribly from sore knees most of my younger life. When you look into some of the emotional issues which can be held by our knees it begins to make sense.

We need our knees to be flexible so we can move with grace and ease, to dance, run and climb stairs!  Pride and inflexibility put a strain on our knees. If our knees give way too quickly, knocking or trembling with fear or an inability to stand up for ourselves, we need to work on our self-esteem and insecurity issues come to believe in ourselves and claim our place in the world.

Let go of any stubbornness, inflexibility, fear or resistance being held in your knees.  Develop greater pride, self-esteem and confidence and allow your knees to heal.

My knee pain, of 6 months or more which I had put down to a torn cartilage, cleared up during very first listening to your knee mp3. Very impressive! EFT Eases Prickly Heat Rash Quickly, Painlessly & Drug Free

A couple of days ago, I had a lovely opportunity to share the power of Emotional Freedom Technique with one of our Facebook Group members. He’d had a terrible heat rash the night before, spent the night in front of a fan with ice, antihistamines and hydrocortisone waiting for something to help. Just as the sun was coming up the itch finally started to abate. He felt dreadful as he felt he’d taken way too many antihistamines and had to cancel his beach plans with his friends. He also felt his Hay Fever was starting to kick in.
 
Whilst we didn’t have time for a full-blown E.F.T. Session, I asked if he’d like me to help him to try to take the edge off the remaining redness and irritation. This is what I call a kind of fire-fighting session where we don’t go deeply into all the emotional issues which are contributing to the issue, we deal with the symptoms as they present themselves in the present moment and how the person feels about having them.
 
I didn’t have a watch or clock so I don’t know how long it took but in just a few rounds of E.F.T. his skin irritation had completely gone! His voice and breathing had changed and he told me he felt so much more relaxed. I was delighted and he was astonished!
 
My E.F.T. teacher, Catherine O’Driscoll used to tell the story of when she first learned E.F.T. She was living in a gorgeous, huge house with very grand, impressive gardens, the only problem was, she suffered horribly from Hay Fever. She set out on her big sit-on lawn mower to cut the grass one day and her Hay Fever kicked in. She had only just received Gary Craig’s educational E.F.T. videos but decided to watch one and try E.F.T. for her Hay Fever. Later that day, she cut her grass with no sign of any Hay Fever!
 
I also worked with the lovely Zane Baker of Valhalla Mind on his life-long, very serious allergies. He had had allergy tests and taken all kinds of medication but his allergies affected his life really badly, even preventing him from working. You can see Zane’s story of how E.F.T. freed him from chronic breathing difficulties in this brief video. 
 
Such is the power of E.F.T.!

Many of us, myself included, realise the power our emotions, words and thoughts have on our bodies and try to live accordingly. But even then, we can set up very subtle inner conflict that we are unaware of.

If you have ever said “how long will this healing take?”, you have actually disrespected your body’s healing process with your impatience. I know I am guilty of that one!

If you have ever said “I should be over this by now!”, you are disrespecting your body’s healing process.

If you have ever said “I should have let this go by now!”, you are disrespecting your body’s healing process.

These may be very subtle, but they are judgements and they set up inner conflict.

If you were your body’s spirit guide would you speak to your body the way you do?

You are the spark of divine consciousness that heals your body. Not with force, judgement, shame, guilt or belittlement. But with infinite love, gentleness, patience, understanding and compassion.

Healing the Weight Loss Struggle of the Empath

I’ve written a lot about weight loss because it’s a very misunderstood area.  For some reason, many of us who are well versed in energy work, universal laws, law of attraction and such topics, don’t realise that the same laws apply to weight and body image issues – they do!

As I wrote in my Make Friends With Food article, everything we’ve learned in personal or spiritual development studies can equally be applied to weight and body image issues. We have a relationship with food, just as we have a relationship with everything and everyone else in our lives. If we create conflict and struggle in that relationship with our negative beliefs we simply create more resistance and more struggle.

I covered a lot of the reasons for stubborn weight issues in my article What Was Going On In Your Life The Last Time You Were at Your Ideal Weight? some of which apply to empaths too. But there are also a few different reasons an empath may struggle with weight issues.

I just wasn’t hungry any longer. I had used your Food meditation the other night for the first time (I always feel guilty about food choices even if all I’ve had is a bagel lol and I find it difficult to know when I’m full, etc.) Well this morning I laid out my breakfast and was happily eating it and then with about 3/4 of it done, I suddenly decided I didn’t want anymore, I just wasn’t hungry any longer. This might seem very normal for most people but that doesn’t happen to me. lol So I was very surprised and pleased! lol

Just wanted you to know how effective your meditations are. And by the way, all previous attempts I’ve made at meditating (before purchasing your meditations) have been an abject failure for me, thus why I am really overjoyed to find something effective that makes me WANT to meditate! 😉 lol

Why Pain, Illness or Injury Strike at Exactly the “Wrong” Moment!

We’ve all been there, you’ve just landed your perfect job, perfect client, perfect romance or are about to take the trip of a life time and wham! You are knocked out by illness, chronic pain or have an “accident”! You are just about to make an important presentation or celebrate a long planned anniversary, you’re about about to help your kids move into their first home and your back goes out.

Why do these things come about at precisely the “wrong” time?

You are about to take the trip of a lifetime and are hit with a tummy bug.

You have a great career opportunity and break or sprain your ankle.

When these things happen we often curse our fate, complain about our luck or grumble about our bodies.

Are we cursed or doomed or dysfunctional in some way? Are we deliberately sabotaging ourselves or is something much deeper and wiser going on?

Those of you who know me, know how passionate I am about teaching your body is not your enemy! But if you don’t understand why these things happen or what messages they have for you, you could easily believe your body IS your enemy.

Time and time again I hear stories of this kind of thing happening and without exception, when I look at the circumstances, I can see the underlying message.

Three friends of mine broke or sprained their ankles when they had either moved to a new school and felt frightened and out of their depth. Or faced a huge change in the direction their lives were taking. I wrote in depth about ankle injuries in my article Why People Break, Sprain and Otherwise Damage Their Ankles.

Lower back pain is another great one! Job insecurity, birthdays, retirement or even children leaving home can trigger this because these occasions confront us with our own mortality. They can bring up deep layers of fear and insecurity about what lies ahead or about our standing in life. You can learn more about lower back pain in my article Healing For Your Lower Back

What’s the best thing to do when you are faced with illness, injury or accident at precisely the “wrong” moment?

The first thing to realise is that it struck at exactly the RIGHT moment! It struck to let you know that some part of you is feeling scared, is out of its comfort zone or is being reminded of a previous time it felt that way.

So often when we are making big changes in our lives, our bodies step in to tell us that an unresolved emotional issue has been triggered. Your body is actually doing you a favour! The illness or accident can give you some time to stop and think, to do the emotional work that needs to be done and to allow the rest of you to catch up with the new direction or life challenge you are facing.

How To Speed Up Your Recovery

Nurture Yourself! Be kind to yourself! The best way to speed up your recovery is to thank your body. Don’t try to fight or resist the pain. Deliberately and consciously go into the pain, let it know you are listening to it and are open to hearing what has come to teach you.
