The heart produces the largest rhythmic electromagnetic field in the body. Emotional information is encoded in that field and attracts people and experiences in to our lives. Hardened, angry attitudes harden our hearts, softer, loving attitudes can actually soften our arteries!

The heart communicates with the brain and gut. Information, including emotional shocks, picked up by the heart is communicated to and lodged in the gut. It then becomes localised in the brain in a specific area that relates to a part of an organ. The reaction of the organ (dis-ease) is designed to help the person resolve the shock and learn from it.

When we are feeling positive emotions, the heart beats out a very different message. By learning to shift our emotions we change the encoding in the magnetic field radiating from our hearts thereby changing what we attract in to our experience.

Being plugged into ‘news’ and scare stories 24 hours a day depletes the immune system. It kicks us into fight, flight or freeze mode and keeps us there!

Our bodies respond to the images in our minds!

The mind and body are intrinsically connected. Your body is unable to tell the difference between reality and imagination. So when you focus on your fears it creates as much havoc with your hormones, body chemistry and energy field as it would if you were facing a dangerous situation in real life.

Stress knocks our bodies off balance and triggers a cascade of stress hormones which influence your body via the autonomic nervous system. When our bodies are in flight, fight or freeze mode they have less energy available to maintain our immune systems and to heal and repair. It stands to reason then that chronic stress can easily lead to poor health and illness.

Your thoughts create an instant reaction in your body. Emotional stress alerts the body to produce stress chemicals such as cortisol, which—if produced on an ongoing basis—begin to break down the immune, gastrointestinal, neurological, and musculoskeletal systems.

More than ever we have to find a way to consciously relieve our stress levels every day!

Disconnect

One thing you can do is disconnect from all sources of ‘news’ at least for a short time during the day.  Make sure you don’t leave the news on in the background. Even though you might not be consciously aware of it, those fear-filled messages are getting through to your subconscious mind!

Your immune system is what is going to get you through this crisis. It has protected you since the day you were born and you want it to be healthy when you venture back out into the world.  Boost your immune system with loving, grateful and positive thoughts and messages. Choose where to put your Attention

Focus on something uplifting as often as you can throughout the day. Nature is a great nurturer. No matter how far from nature we seem to have come, as human beings, our roots are in nature and nature is a great healer. So even if all you can see of nature is the sky or a house plant, try to focus and connect with nature in some way.

Don’t get trapped in fear!

Do whatever it takes to move your attention to something you can feel loving and grateful towards.  Pets are an  ideal source of unconditional love.  If you don’t have a pet, watching animal videos can also be a great distraction. The emotion associated with our lungs is grief. Contributing factors to lung problems can be issues such as having difficulty standing up for yourself, constantly needing support or approval, feeling weepy, sad, or tired, unexpressed grief and unshed tears.

We are all dealing with current, known and acknowledged grief at the moment. We see the entire human family being affected and life as we know it, changed forever. 

Some people are suffering horrendous personal loss. Even if we haven’t suffered personally, we are all grieving the loss of a way of life. This grief is perfectly valid and most of us will go through the recognised phases of grief. But there is also hidden and often forgotten grief that most (if not all) of us are carrying – generational grief.  The ovum that made you, existed in your grandmother’s body. You have a direct, biological connection three generations back. Think about that for a moment. Think about what your grandmother’s generation experienced!  Wars, dictatorships, famines, empires, carnage on such vast scales that we can’t even comprehend. If just a tiny modicum of that grief found its way into us, that’s potentially a huge amount of hidden grief.

Even if you don’t adhere to the idea of generational grief in physical form, Dr Gabor Maté teaches how we pass our emotional traumas and grief on through our behaviour.

The grief and pain we see around us, triggers the grief and pain we are holding, maybe even trying to suppress inside us.

I don’t write any of this to scare you.  That is VERY last thing I want to do!! Just be aware, that if you are struggling with grief or sadness you can’t explain, these are some avenues you might want to explore.
