Talk To Your Pain

Talking to your pain might seem like a strange concept but I am willing to bet that you already do it!

When you become aware of your self-talk you realise that when you are in pain you tend to complain about it, if not to others, certainly to yourself. You may grumble about it, feel resentful and even angry that it prevents you from doing things you want to do.

You judge and criticise yourself and your body. You tell others what a “bad back” or “bad hip” you have and how much you suffer with it.

If you have a name for your pain, a diagnosis, it is worth remembering diagnosis is simply a word. It is just a word used to describe a symptom or symptoms showing up in the body. Diagnosis is only a name, agreed upon to identify specific symptoms.

A diagnosis only has as much power as YOU give it! When you talk about it and identify yourself with it, you give it more power, you give it more energy. When you talk about it, you are affirming you have it!

If you do any of these things, you are already talking to your pain and you are affirming it! The great news is that now that you are aware of this you can change it!

You can change it this very minute by changing the way you talk to the part of your body that is pain. Think of it as a small child, puppy or kitten scared and in pain. Instead of complaining, focus on sending it warm, loving thoughts, if you can (you might not be ready for this step yet) thank it for everything it has done for you and for the message it is sending you. By doing this you change the energy around it instantly.

If you need help knowing which words to use, look up my free affirmations and use those that resonate with you. There are over 2,500 of them so you are bound to find something that suits your situation. When you use these affirmations you are using the same words the people below used to ease their pain. Please use them freely and share them with friends and loved ones.

Knee Pain

Hip Pain

“A few days ago after moving my father in law to a nursing home, we had to clear out his apt. This is the apt I have taken care of him for almost a year. Clearing out his apt was filled with so many emotions. I developed almost debilitating left hip pain while moving his stuff out. Now two days later after cleaning up a day ago, I woke up with pain in the morning but my nightfall tonight, it is almost all gone. I was in so much pain I was crying and could only drag my leg around all yesterday. Even today earlier in the day, there was still intense pain at times. As an herbalist, I began to question if it was not emotional rather than overdoing it when moving the stuff out. I know it is. There was so much fear for the future since he was paying us to take care of him. So we have half the income we had but I know we will make it through, even though it is scary since we are 66 and 70. We had to put him in….we physically could not handle him. It was an abrupt change from 24 hours a day for weeks to none. Emotionally and physically I was a wreck trying to care for him in the last weeks. I feel much better tonight mentally as well. I have felt drained like being hit with a mack truck for weeks”. December is well and truly upon us and it can be a funny month. For many people it’s happy, for most people it’s fun and busy! For some people it is deeply painful and lonely. It can also be a time when the old aches and pains you thought you’d healed reappear! You might choose to believe in things like “germ theory” or “the flu season” although, if you are reading this, you probably know better 🙂

Listen To Your Body!

With all the anniversaries, celebrations, happy or unhappy memories which are triggered at this time of year, it is far more likely that an unresolved emotional issue has been re-triggered.  Your body is letting you know this, by manifesting pain or dis-ease.

How Do I Know Which Emotions Have Been Re-triggered?

Listen to your body!  If you are not consciously aware of a feeling or emotion that has come up, the painful area in your body will give you a clue. The area which is painful is pointing the way to the emotions that have been triggered. You can find healing affirmations for all areas of your body on this site. Just search for the area you need healing in and the clearings and affirmations will tell you which emotions are likely to be causing the pain.

Check Your Beliefs!

Become aware of  your beliefs.  If you tell everyone “I get three colds every winter.” should you be surprised when your body manifests what your words are saying? Your body hears your words and does its best to follow your instructions.  If you say, “I always slip on the ice”, are you surprised when you slip on the ice?  Take a good look at your beliefs, thoughts and words. Lower back pain often coincides with anniversaries. These occasions confront us with our own mortality and can bring up deep layers of fear and insecurity about what lies ahead or about our standing in life. As You Become More Aware and Conscious

As you become more aware and conscious, you realise that the state of your  body, health and life are a direct result of your consistent thoughts. One stray thought isn’t going to cause a calamity, but thoughts you think over and over again, become beliefs and beliefs are very powerful.  So this winter, become aware of your beliefs and see how your health improves.

I started with the free one and really enjoyed it. It gave me a nice feeling afterwards. Then I bought the heal your neck because I’ve had neck pain off and on for years. After the first time listening my pain went from a 9 (10 being the worst pain) down to a 3. That is significant. Now that I have listened to it for about a week my pain is down to a 1. The narrater has a soothing voice and the music is a nice compliment. I have even fallen asleep listening to it. I don’t usually write reviews but this is worth the money.

This is the best app I have found for supporting and changing your thinking. Affirmations are great but this takes them to the next level! It’s a quality app, not buggy like some other meditation type apps I have tried. I fully intend to download all the sections of it as finances permit. Found it so easy to get back into meditation with this app. Started seeing white flickers in first session, and could physically feel the “lump in my throat” being pulled /picked away

The meditations are fantastic 🙂 you can adjust the music and voice loudness to your liking. The first two meditations are free. The rest are only 6 dollars download but well worth it. I use them daily and my health and finances are much better. If you love affirmations and relaxing music, these meditations are the best I have found. Give them a go! Thalia Bhandari
