If you have heard your Guardian Angel or Spirit Guide, or listened to any of the loving, inspirational messages from the wonderful, high level spirit guides all around us these days, you’ll know that their messages are full of infinite love, gentleness, endless understanding, compassion and limitless patience.

They are with us always, in all ways. They never judge us. We may have travelled the same path trying to reach a different destination, through many lifetimes. They never complain, criticise, belittle, or judge us. They travel with us. They are by our sides, loving us unconditionally with infinite patience, gentleness and love throughout all eternity.

How does that compare with the way we treat our bodies?

What if you are your body’s spirit guide?

Do you speak to your body the way our spirit guides speak to us?

Do you show your body infinite love, gentleness, patience, understanding and compassion? If you do, I applaud you.

Many of us, myself included, realise the power our emotions, words and thoughts have on our bodies and try to live accordingly. But even then, we can set up very subtle inner conflict that we are unaware of.

If you have ever said “how long will this healing take?”, you have actually disrespected your body’s healing process with your impatience. I know I am guilty of that one!

If you have ever said “I should be over this by now!”, you are disrespecting your body’s healing process.

If you have ever said “I should have let this go by now!”, you are disrespecting your body’s healing process.

These may be very subtle, but they are judgements and they set up inner conflict.

If you were your body’s spirit guide? Would you speak to your body that way?

You are the spark of divine consciousness that heals your body. Not with force, judgement, shame, guilt or belittlement. But with infinite love, gentleness, patience, understanding and compassion.

When pain strikes, the first thing most of us do is try to resist it. We tense up, take a pill, complain and feel sorry for ourselves.

We tell ourselves and others, that we have a “bad stomach” or a “bad back” or that we are a “martyr to our migraines” or whatever.

We’ve all heard someone talk like this and may even have spoken that way ourselves.

I had in interesting comment on a blog post this morning. A lady wrote, “I never really thought that emotional issues affects our body pains”.

This got me thinking about how many other people don’t know that their beliefs and emotional issues create and perpetuate physical pain. Or how their attitude and words affect the condition and health of every part of their body.

What  Words Do You Use About Yourself Most Often?

If you are in pain as you read this, I am not for a moment saying you meant to create it or judging you in any way! What I am saying, is stop for a moment, catch your thoughts and the words you habitually use.

I think you will be surprised at how frequently you use certain words to describe your condition or circumstances and I’d be willing to bet they are mostly negative.

Chronic negative self-talk and thinking, creates chronic dis-ease in the body! How can your body be at ease if you are constantly complaining about it? Constantly sending it negative messages? When you think about it this way it makes perfect sense.

I have been there myself, so I would not dream of telling you to just “change your thoughts”. I know it’s not as easy as that, but you can break free from pain.

In the crash he crushed his spine, was unable to walk, talk, swallow, breathe or move any part of his body except for his eyes. His doctors believed he would live a short, meaningless life, if he survived at all. But Morris had different plans! Morris had his mind, and his faith that one day he would walk out on his own two feet, and make a full recovery, no matter what his doctors told him.

Morris had no more or less to go on than any of us do. We can all use the amazing power of our thoughts to heal or harm ourselves.

Dr Emoto Water CrystalsMany of us here are familiar with the amazing work of Dr Masaru Emoto which proved the power words and emotions have on water.  Many of us realised that since our bodies consist mostly of water, our words and emotions must have a huge influence on our bodies. This is old news to most of us here.

It can be tricky to let go of old habits and beliefs, many of which we are not even aware of. But when you think what constant self-criticism and judgement are doing to the cells of your body you  realise that for your own well-being and health you have to become consious of your self-talk and change it!

Elephant and tree at duskNot everyone is used to listening to their bodies but this simple excercise can help you  become more aware. When you set off for a walk (or start any type of excercise), check in with your body, feel how strong your strides are and with how much ease or stiffness your body moves. Give that feeling a number on a scale of zero to ten. As you walk, start telling yourself, ” I am strong, I am powerful, my legs are strong, my legs are fit and powerful, my body moves with ease” etc. Towards the end of your walk (or excercise), check in again and see if your number has changed.
